While the original/current XF and 3GS shared some design similarities, I don't see similarities between this new XF and GS.
Completely different type of door cut.
I know the door cuts are different.
but I'm talking about this in particular. They both have bulbous sides, and if I covered the front, from this angle, the similarity is even more pronounced.
XF and GS share very slab''ish' sides, that's about it. Personally I like both. Gives more choice to the plethora of E-Class and 5-Series running about.
The XE's big brother, meanwhile, is subject to a significant price drop. The new base model, the 340-horsepower 35t, rings up at just $52,895, or over $5,200 less than the entry level V6-powered 2015 XF. Once again, Jag has parked itself in the middle of a popular segment, although unlike the XE, the vehicles that undercut the XF – the Infiniti Q70 and Acura RLX – are old or not particularly popular among consumers. That's good news for JLR, since the new sedan easily undercuts the BMW 5 Series and Audi A6, while sneaking in just below the likes of the Mercedes E-Class or Cadillac CTS. And if you're in mourning for the 2.0-liter, turbocharged XF, don't be – the new 35t is only $2,000 more expensive, is lighter, and has 100 more horsepower.

old one yes, new one no... But Jaguar did a good thing for their dealers with XF, since they were lacking product in Europe, to keep the dealers alive, they dropped the pricing on XF so it was really dirt cheap... looking at german prices right now, it is priced like IS and 3 series.

if only they would do that here, just to gain market share.
But I'd still be a little hesitant to buy a jag because their history is full of car problems.
Outstanding performance still does not trump reliability.

Well they just announced a lot of prices being lowered by several thousand dollars, and they're also launching 5 year schedule maintenance included.

indeed... i would be worried by reliability as well and resale price later on. All of JLR vehicles have pretty bad resale prices, gotta be reliability reputation.

Not true...both the RR full size and RR sport hold their value pretty well. Both have won multiple ALG resale value awards and within the past couple of yrs sellers were actually breaking even or making money selling 1-2 yr old full size RRs.
I do agree that Jaguar has a resale problem. The real issue w Jag is no SUV and entry level car.

Those are brand new cars that they still cant deliver easily... 2012 RR Sport can be gotten with low mileage for 35k in my neck of the woods (Europe), white MSRP was well over 70k.... thats way worse resale value than competition.
If you are leasing it does not matter, if you are buying, it certainly does matter.
