Does Lexus' LF-C2 Get Your Attention For The Right or Wrong Reasons?
Even if you wanted to, you couldn't miss Lexus' new LF-C2 2+2 convertible model at the brand's 2014 LA Auto Show display.
It’s not only the golden-yellow metallic shade, but the rather busy and flashy design of the car itself – I mean, just look at that face...
Obviously, Lexus loves it with company boss Jeff Bracken stating: "The LF-C2 concept shows what’s in store for our brand’s future design direction. This concept shows consumers around the world Lexus’ devotion to emotional designs as well as our passion for an exceptional driving experience.”
If you don't mind a fixed top over your head, you can already get something very close to the LF-C2 in the form of the production RC Coupe or better yet, the V8-powered RC F performance edition.
The LF-C2's goal is to explore or gauge, if you will, customer interest in a four-seater convertible edition of the RC. What do you say, dear reader?
I'm still amazed that Lexus pushed ALL their chips to the middle of the table with that grill. I find myself still flabbergasted.....that conservative Toyota/Lexus had several design options that they analyzed and scrutinized for this major design shift and chose THAT one, THAT grill. OMG! Has there ever been anything more bold than this grill in the last 25 years in exterior car designs?????
this car is so much better executed than the is-c, if they are able to keep the overall proportion in the production version. it looks great from most angles and especially the rear, finally it comes down for a more balanced look

it is much easier when they built RC to be convertible from day one... IS-C did not have that luck :-)
it looks great for a show but if i saw that convertible (bright yellow, huge front grill) pull up at a gas station next to me, top down, white leather, i'd be thinking "what are you compensating for, buddy?"
