I mean minus some obvious Lexus features (front spindle grill, some interior options) they have the same shape and similar exterior styling that would make me beg to differ. Lexus Claims that its 90% different which it very possibly can because of its interior styling, drive train (maybe since they both use the AR style engine 2.5l 2AR in Rav4 and 2.0l 8AR). To you it may be different but to me, it just seems like they took bits and pieces from all around the toyota line changed them a little bit to make the NX. But that's just my opinion
Not saying that its a bad thing. The Rav4 has come A LONG WAY in its styling and has proven it self to the toyota line so its not a BAD thing

Looks like the Rav4? How and where? Every single review has praised how differentiated the two are in every aspect.
If this generation of NX is successful, I'd be very happy if Lexus chose to diversify the engine offerings for the second generation. Something closer to 300 hp - whether via 6 cylinders, 4 cylinders, N/A or turbocharged - would be really nice.
+1 I see no resemblance I don't see one shared part!
most European Lexus distributors expect between 100% and 150% overall rise of sales for Lexus in their countries due to NX :-).
I read somewhere that Lexus plans to sell 200,000 of these first full year.... 200,000!
This is why attention was paid to...everything.
That's an ambitious number!

The NX will be a big seller.
Thanks, Joe. I just posted this one though (mine are labeled 'Hoovey Review'). Wanted to keep it here to stimulate discussion and because not everyone ventures into the sub-model forums
btw I always love seeing your signature. Always something new in there! This time referring to the CX-5

....but a 6 speed transmission? really? on a 2015 car? sadly reminds me of Acura.
And the article is saying the transmission is NEW too.
We find it interesting that Lexus has chosen to create an all-new automatic transmission with only six available ratios, considering that most of its competitors have seven (Mercedes) or eight (BMW and Audi).

Yes the original allotment was 20,000 for the US and as of a month ago we heard 40,000. As of a few weeks I've heard that number tuned to 36,000

Yes just like the CT I hope it expands. A NX F with 6-cylinders would be nice
It seems to be a really first rate effort, the tech inside is pretty awesome. Might not be as sporty as we thought but it still looks to drive and be more interesting than most in class.
Great job Lexus.
Well, take a look at the red seats! All that red stitching... quite tasty.
I think Lexus did a great job in separating the NX from RAV4.
Overall its a nice option in this class.
One weak point is the transmission is only 6speed - not sure why since the engine is BRAND NEW.
Besides the styling - which can be good or bad - there is nothing really that special about it.
I am just a bit surprised as to Lexus' reasoning to develop a new turbo 4cyl only to offer less HP than the competition that has had similar motors out for several years?? Then the 6 spd tranny.......hmmm.
Late to the party and yet outmatched by the competition. Not quite sure I understand it. Probably why I don't own a car company
