Not everyone wants, or needs, a turbo engine. I found the MKX's N/A 3.7L just fine for everyday driving. It is also less-complex, fewer parts to wear out, the engine itself produces less heat without a turbo, and often can use less-expensive oil.

It seems a little pointless to have both. They both get 19MPG combined for fuel economy.

I don't see it as pointless. One for power, and one for refinement. Me...I'd personally choose the refinement.

In these segments you will have buyers who just want naturally aspirated power.
