Default The craziness that is the C63

I don't know if the ISF or an other "F" model can sound as good as this beast, I had the opportunity to live with a C63 for a day and I took this video.

There is nothing like the sound of an amg v8. The CLA45 doesn't sound like an amg...

I drove a CLA45, it sounded very stupid; almost like a 4 banger Civic with an exhaust.

The 6.2 will be missed, I hope the new C63 still holds a nice "grumble" like the out going model did.

I think it'll sound nice, but there's no way it can mimic that NA 6.2L. The new mill is slated to be a Bi-Turbo 4.0L V8 and rumor has it they are using the C55 AMG moniker again.

Ah, that's gonna suck. I am stuck between either purchasing a 2013/14 C63 507, or just wait and see how this new "C55" will sound. Other than that I really like how the new C class looks, almost looks like a baby S class.

Although the M156 was a great performer it had its issues. The camshaft adjusters began to rattle which caused to break loose and causing the valves to slam into the pistons.

MB only released a bulletin, lots of cars including mine had to have them changed. If they your are out of warranty you are SOL. Its about a 1500-2000 dollar job per head.

Currently there is a class action being filed against MB and people are trying to get it recalled.

You gotta wonder, if these engines are "hand-built" why would they have such issues. I was under the impression that these cars were "top quality" compared to its competitors.

It was a poorly designed part, if it were hand made or robot it would not have made difference.

Good craftsmanship can not overcome poor engineering.

Yep. That problem was fixed in late 2011+ motors thank goodness. Also, there's no way the new C63 will sound as good as this one, but it won't sound bad. AMG knows the V8 exhaust note is one of their hallmarks.

How much power were you expecting out of a 2.0T I4?

I was referring to the sound of the exhaust note, not the power. It makes plenty

I have an ISF and that sounds WAY more aggressive. Thats what the ISF sounds like with an exhaust. The stock exhaust is great but much more subdued that the AMG system. Many members drop a Joe Z system on the car but the AMG system still sounds more aggressive
