Default struts

I just joined and I think I got taken advantage from by a mechanic due to my ignorance on Lexus. Just Bought a 1999 RX 300 and it needed struts. I paid him 178.97 each and 98.00 for each mount. I saw the factory Lexus struts for 148.00. Someone help me out here so I can make a better choice on a mechanic.

A little more information would help here.

1- What brand and type of struts were installed?

2- Was the mechanic an independent or did he work in a chain shop, or dealer?

3- Were you satisfied with the work?
