Just as I expected 3856# curb weight for C63 and 3924# for C63S, people actually believed this would be 3600# lol

http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/vehicl...nt=model-specs

However the option packages are way better than what BMW does. Lets you get some of the essential options without forcing you to get a $4000 package to get a backup camera. C63S is actually priced quite well. Despite the weight this has the best engine in this segment. Built a pretty nice C63S for $79.4k - LED lights, COMAND multimedia, AMG seats, blind spot.

Agreed on the weight-I was saying the same thing. By the time a loaded model hits Car and Driver's scales I have a feeling it'll crest 4000lbs, putting it right in line with the RC-F.

It maybe inline with the RCF weight wise, but the C63S is putting out way more hp & tq.

That much is obvious...was talking about weight. I mentioned the RC-F because its heft is frequently criticized.

theres no way in hell it would be that light, an AMG GT which has extensive use of aluminum and use of CF is already 3400# and its 9" shorter than a C.

Despite RCF weight, the S does 0-60 in 3.9

I'm a bit shocked at how fast the roof line seems to be. Rear window is quite small.

Talk on the C63 boards says that 3856 is with the Pano Roof. Pano roof adds about 150lbs

That is considered a conservative #. In the right hands it can produce some better numbers, I believe C & D 3.7

Not too surprised at the small rear windows. The S class coupe also has a very high belt line and the front and rear windows are pretty narrow as well. I don't see a pillarless design though....

And you won't at this price point- no change there. That's for the E-class coupe and above.

This is what the German website states.

http://www.mercedes-benz.de/content/...ta/models.html

So in Germany the C63s weighs 1730 kilos but that includes a fuel tank @ 90% full and a driver who weighs 68 kilos and 7 kilos of luggage.

In lbs that would be 3806 lbs - 165 lbs = 3641 lbs with gas at 90%

DOT weight isnt out yet..

I like how the Germans are doing this by listing realistic weights instead of dry weights with no fluids to try to make it look lighter than it should.
