So basically a lift 6? They are trying what Subaru has been doing. Lift up Impreza and Legacy.

That is probably the Mazda6 wagon, not the CX-3. The CX-3 is supposed to be small -- subcompact -- and likely based on the tiny Mazda2 (Yaris-sized).

A lift 3 would be fine, but Mazda2 is way too small for a compact crossover. They can barely fit anything.

You mean for "going with ONLY urea"? Because most, if not all, DPF-equipped diesels also use urea and an SCR mixer. They go after different aspects of emissions. DPF is about soot, urea/SCR is about NOx.

While DPF does bring its own tranche of problems, they're relatively minor in the overall universe of late-model diesel issues. The big culprit is EGR, which should NEVER under ANY circumstances be used on a direct-injection engine, whether gas or diesel. Dirty exhaust gases + no fuel-borne detergents=disaster. If I can find someone to code it out of the ECU, I'll probably block off my EGR this year, and will be installing meth injection to clean up my intake tract regardless (I won't complain about the power increase either ).

But I agree, if Mazda can meet emissions standards with just an SCR system, and leave out the DPF and EGR, that's a huge win.

that was CX-.5 facelift I think.

CX-3 should be smaller.

Mazda6 wagon is out for 2 years now, it is real wagon, it does not look like SUV and it is low to the ground.

Maybe it's the angle that makes this Mazda6 wagon look like it's going the Outback route. I agree the CX-3 will be smaller but I think it'll have that 'low slung' look much like the X1, QX50 and GLA all have.

It's the angle that's throwing things off. Regardless if it is the CX-5 that appears to have grown a bit. Likely since it'll have to make room for the CX-3 while somewhat filling the defunct CX-7 shoes. Can't wait for a new CX-9
