Default 2007 Chrysler 300 Touring

Does anybody have any experience with these? My parents are looking at buying one ASAP for a coming trip to replace their aging 91 LS400. It's back east, so we will be flying out, picking it up, and commencing our summer family vacation. This is not our first rodeo with online buying, but it is our first time with this model. Any issues to worry about? It's at 90,000 miles. Looks really clean, they want $8000 for it. Has a clean title.

The only issue you need to worry about is that it's a pre-Fiat Chrysler with 90,000 miles...

Not much to worry about with those, although I will guarantee that car will need a suspension overhaul by now. They'll know pretty quickly if that's the case, things get quite noisy when going over bumps. The other things they will need to pay attention to is classic used car stuff, so cold a/c, maintenance history, oil changes, etc.

Yes my girl had a 2007 300 with the 2.7L V6 and the car conked out at 70,000. Got her a 2012 Altima instead

If it's a touring it should have the 3.5L V6. The 2.7L V6 should be avoided at all costs.

My buddy has a 300 Touring with the 3.5, he neglects the car and it keeps running, any issue he had with it was a TSB taken care of by the dealer, infact the dealer is more of a problem then the car.

The 2.7 should have never been stuck in this platform, too little, running to hard, overheating and burning themselves out, sucks for those who bought them

Yeah, I already warned my folks to avoid the 2.7.

This will be our 4th pre-fiat Chrysler product. The first was a 90 Dodge Dynasty which had tons of issues. The second was a 93 Plymouth Voyager 4-cyl that had a few minor issues, but ran well. The 3rd was a 98 Chrysler Town & Country. We put a lot of miles on it(I also learned to drive on it, so quite a few of those miles were not easy) and gave it away at 180,000 several years ago. It was still running strong the last time I saw it...must have had a good bit over 200,000 by then.

This will be the first vehicle my parents have purchased that is newer than 2000.

Those cars are notorious for wearing out ball joints and front end components. Cheap crap that doesn't last.

I'd venture to say that their old LS will last a lot longer than that 300 will.

You mean the same stuff that wears out on Mercedes Benz right after the warranty expires, and then they replaces with parts that last

Search the 300 forums, they are pretty reliable cars, living here in Atlanta for the last 3 years I've seen way more 300 with well over 100k, if the car your parents are looking at has 90k, its time for all the oil to be changed, most of the fluids are high mileage synthetics

Yeah, I'll make sure they get the oil changed. Ball joints and what not are a non-issue for us. My dad doesn't mind doing a little work on a car. He'll just chuckle and say that it was lucky to see a car still run at all at 100,000 miles when he grew up. But he's the type that doesn't complain much.

They've talked about it a lot more and pretty much decided a 300 is what they'll get. The 07 sold before they could put down a deposit, so they're just leisurely looking through, trying to decide what trim to buy. I imagine they'll end up with a Touring model. I can't talk them into the C. I did talk them out of the LX based solely on the fact that it has the 2.7

No hers wasn't a Touring. Just the most basic 300 God created lol. Glad to have gotten her out of it
