Regarding Ford's hybrid story, my over 90 year old father in law is trading in his Prius for a Fusion hybrid.

The lane departure warning feature is a big deal for older folks, particularly where they have kids (in their 50s and 60s) saying maybe its time for you to give up driving.

The RDX really shows who their consumers/market is. That is one average vehicle, bland, less tech than a Hyundai/Ford SUV,not even a rear air vent or rear trunk screen and it sells like crazy. Hilarious.

ATLANTA, June 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars, Cayenne SUVs and the Panamera four-door sports sedan line-up in the United States, today announced May 2013 sales of 3,928 vehicles. This is the best May sales month – and second best month ever – in PCNA history and compares to 2,852 vehicles sold in May 2012, an increase of 38 percent. For the year, PCNA has delivered 17,609 vehicles in the U.S., up 31 percent over last year's all-time record sales year.

The Cayenne continues to be the top-seller, with 1,765 vehicles sold in May – a 50 percent increase over 2012. The latest versions of the Cayenne – the GTS, Diesel and Turbo S models – led the way.

Also hot in May were the recently-introduced Boxster and Cayman models, both of which were up significantly over last year. The 911 line also sold well, with 895 models retailed, up two percent over a record-setting 2012. The 911 is up 13 percent for the year.

"Our two-door sports cars are still the heart and soul of the Porsche brand and of our entire model range," said Detlev von Platen, president and CEO, Porsche Cars North America, Inc. "The Boxster, Cayman and 911 accounted for 45 percent of all new-car sales in May. We're pleased with this healthy sales mix and are pushing for another strong sales year."
Panamera inventory is very low, as Porsche prepares to launch an updated 2014 model this fall.

there you go again. car purchases are VERY subjective/emotional. they often don't make any sense.

by rear trunk screen, do you mean a cargo cover? like this one?

and as we know, not all buyers want lots of 'tech' either...

just as corolla's with 4 speed autos have sold like hot donuts for years

So BMW, MB, Audi, and Cadillac gained a lot of marketshare in May, while it looks like Infiniti and Acura lost a lot of marketshare. Lexus has yet to show their numbers, but with the Toyota Group only increasing 2.5% I don't have a lot of hope. Are the Japanese luxury makes getting left behind in the US market?
