I think it looks nice but it seems like, with the loss of 2 doors, it has also lost some of the aggressiveness of the sedan. Can't really explain it.

I want to like it, but something is seriously throwing it off. I think it's the small tires again and the small wheel cutouts. The car looks like it's running on tires that are completely worn out or two sizes too small. This, when added to the thick and tall rear end from just behind the rear wheel, coupled with no rear bumper, creates too much body mass in back. Wheelwells more in proportion like the Audi A5 would have lent a better look here. Cadillac seems to be stuck on this problem with their recent coupes and sedans.
I must say however, it's nice to finally see Caddy give a slight trunk to their coupe. Hopefully they'll continue this and get away from the cheap hatchback look (CTS). The most successful and legendary luxury coupes in recent times have all had trunks- Lexus SC and Infiniti G.

I wouldn't call it backwards. I think there would be a significant market for a new Eldo....particularly a convertible.
Would you take the ATS Coupe over the new 4-Series if you were replacing the 335i convertible
I haven't reviewed a new 4-series yet (I hope to at least look at and sit in one at the D.C. Auto Show next week), so I can't give a definitive answer on that yet. But the old turbo/straight-six 335i was, IMO, an absolute gem....arguably my favorite RWD car from a purely-driving sense. The ATS is well-built, plush inside, and has almost race-car handling, but the suspension is quite stiff and lacks the 335i's superb ride/handling balance. Some other new BMWs, though, seem to have lost their former superb steering feel with the new electric systems....I would assume that also will apply to the new 4-series.
