Guesses? Apperantly, Kentucky offered Toyota 150 million to expand plant there for another 50k in yearly production:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-0...expansion.html
The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority today approved the package, based on Toyota enlarging its auto- assembly factory in Georgetown by 2015 to produce an additional model. The Toyota City, Japan-based company would have to invest $531.2 million and add 570 full-time jobs to receive the full value of the credits, the agency said in an e-mailed statement.
So maybe ES350 production moves there?

Corolla production is already in Canada and Mississippi and by the end of the year all Corollas for NA will come from those plants, as no more will be imported from Japan (the number is tiny now anyway).
I'm pretty confident in the ES moving there and it makes sense being in the Camry plant and the 50K number sounds about right for ES yearly sales. A much lesser possibility is moving some Prius production here. Not to mention the yen/dollar exchange rate, while better than it has been in years, is still bad.
The fact that Lexus has their own little event scheduled in NY the same day about their future can't be a coincidence.

Well I think if it is ES production they start small. The RX plant supplemented the Japan plant and expanded to produce more.
It would only make sense since the ES is sold pretty much only in the states and China, maybe a couple other markets. The TL has been made here since 1999 and people don't seem to care a bit or know its made in Ohio.
