The phrase, "Drives like a new car." gets thrown around the pro-touring community a lot. Is it true? Matt Farah drives one of the best out there, Classic Recreations' "Villain", and compares it to the new 2015 Ford Mustang GT.
^Face-palm.
Matt Prior takes to the wheel of this American icon to see whether Ford's latest incarnation can take on the Europeans on their home turf. With a 415 bhp naturally aspirated V8 to get the heart pulsing and a price to get your head thinking, is this sixth generation a true successor to the original that sold in its millions?
There is no need for snide remarks. MY16 information is now surfacing and in an effort to reduce information overload CL threads the team has asked we keep them more specific. As an avid contributor of content on these boards you should know better. If there is an issue please take it to PM
^Waste of time.
For 2015 however the Mustang received some significant changes to make the penultimate pony car to make it more suitable for a worldwide audience. Since 1964 the Mustang has been the place to find a large V8, a manual transmission and a solid rear axle. The solid rear axle however has been a point of contention for foreign auto journalists like Top Gear who frequently compared the Ford's handling to a large cargo hauler. and decried the GT as a one-trick pony, the car that was excellent in a straight line at a drag strip.
