Ferrari has done it again. The Enzo is now officially gone.
I love almost everything about this new car. The looks are awesome. Modern and muscular. Svelte with a waistline but bold front and reas. The power is awesome. 920 total horses!!! What else needs to be said. The only thing I have an issue with is the name. LaFerrari sounds too feminine to me. El-Ferrarri would have been better. Even F70 would have been better. La is feminine in Spanish. Isn't it feminin in Italian?
Don't like it.
I would still buy the car if I could though. No doubt. Screw the name.
LOOKS AMAZING !!!!! Performance will be insane. Cant wait to see it on Top Gear with the P1 going head to head. I just hate the name LaFerrari. Really??? Sounds way to feminine . I think they should have just stuck with F150. To me its the F70. LaFerrari sounds like some type of lotion you buy in the Ferrari store
McLaren P1 TT 3.8L V8 + Electric Motor total output = 903hp and 663lbft
Ferrari LaFerrari 6.3L V12 + Electric Motor total output = 949hp and 663lbft
Natural enemies out the gate. So awesome!
Isnt the power always on tap in the P1. The F70 only has the extra 163hp for short bursts from what I have read about the system in the car. Not sure if thats changed. Regardless its going to be a great battle. God bless the rich who can afford these machines and will share them with us

That's true, but it's just amazing how far these Super/Hyper cars have come. Next 3-4 years were looking at 1000hp standard

P1 is plugin hybrid... it can go 6 miles on electric power and after that you have to put it into charge mode or you wont have any electric engine power as it doesnt use regenerative braking (to improve brake feel?).
it also makes it 350lbs heavier than a Ferrari.
In real life, and not on track, it wont matter... you will probably seldom use 900 hp anyway so if you want to give it a god, it will be always ready... of course, for track enviroment, Ferrari is much better.
P1 probably takes in account its hybrid mode to get better estimated fuel mileage for taxes, which is the point of the system probably :-)

The P1 does use regenerative braking to recharge its batteries. Seems that the F70 is superior in that it can also recharge the batteries with excessive engine output, whereas the P1's engine can only recharge the batteries in a generator mode, requiring the car to be fully stopped first. http://www.digitaltrends.com/cars/mc...brid-supercar/
