Fresh Le Mans 24 Hours winner on the Ferrari 458 Italia of SMP Racing Andrea Bertolini introduces the Ferrari FXX K, the latest XX Programmes car that will debut in Budapest in the hands of its special clients-tester. As we know the letter K is for "KERS" kinetic energy recovery technology, which maximises on track performance. Unfettered by homologation and racing regulations, the FXX K will never be used in competition. It was, in fact, developed to be completely uncompromising, incorporating technological innovations that will guarantee an unprecedented driving experience to the exclusive group of Client-Test Drivers with whom the Prancing Horse will roll out a test programme over the coming two years.

After months of speculation and numerous leaks, the new limited Ferrari hypercar is finally revealed - partially.

Ferrari still keeps the official name, technical characteristics and the number of cars produced under wraps up until the car’s official debut at the Paris Motor Show.

All we know so far is that the open-top LaFerrari will be available with a carbon hard top and a removable soft top while the hardware remains the same with its fixed-roof brother.

This means that under the sexy bodywork lies the glorious 789hp V12 paired to a 160hp electric motor for a total output of 950hp (963PS). Ferrari also lets us know that the chassis has been extensively modified in order to offer the same torsional rigidity and beam stiffness with the normal LaFerrari, if you can call a LaFerrari normal.

Even the aerodynamics of the bodywork have been further honed in order to offer the same drag coefficient when driving with the roof off so don’t expect any noticeable differences in straight-line performance.
