My gosh. The interior maks me wonder who's copying who. Lexus interior is nearly identical and what I mean by that is it's two dimensional flat plane dash. Has no depth nor emotion to it. Just very sterile and plain. Not to be confused with beautiful colors, workmanship or materials.
In the pic I provided I like the fact they are at least playing around with certain dimensions. While it may not be to my taste at least their trying.
Anyway, NOT that I'd turn it down if one parked in my driveway. On a positive note I do like the exterior styling.

s class has some really awkward angles, but overall it looks nice.

The 7 series face is just blah

In fact, concept reminds me of a lot that Lexus is trying to do with LC-FC, slimming down the profile and creating interesting rear. I sure hope (and firmly believe) Lexus will not back down from concept like BMW did.

and then we get BMW Camry edition.

That BMW concept was more a design exercise for the purported 9-series rather than the 7-series. The G11 7-series design was locked in before that concept even debuted, so backing down is an inaccurate assertion. CMK1 has gone into detail about design lead times and could shed more light on that.

it is a lot more stylish than 7 series, which is vanilla vehicle, like most new BMW's... It has very safe styling not to offend anyone....

Now, of course, S class is now 2.5 years old, so we got used to it by now, plus it does not help that C class and upcoming E class look very, very similar to it, so styling is definitely wearing off... still the most stylish car in the class by far, inside and out.

It has a presence though that this new 7 doesn't have.

This is one of the few times I agree with Mr. Burns. The S-class is beautiful in my eyes but still quite conservative. I'm giving the style award to the Jaguar XJ and Maserati Quattroporte.

Not sure I follow you on this.....you mean because the G11 is a new design this year?

Lexus' new interiors are hardly two dimensional lol, nor is the new 7 series.

Yes. As in, I'm not sure why you brought up Consumer Reports' appraisal of the old model when SW15LS was discussing how the new 7-series doesn't do it for him. Sorry if my original message came off as snippy.

Correct. And, I doubt long term reliability is a serious decision point for somebody buying these cars. It isn't for me.

If it were, you wouldn't have the S Class dominating the segment, you wouldn't have the huge popularity of Range Rovers, Etc.

Not saying all Lexus are two dimensional. But the few I sat in looked two dimensional, boxy and flat. Most everything was at or near 90° angles.

There are actually a lot of curves and dimensions to the 4GS interior...I had one for 3 years...its elegant and not over the top...thats why it won a Ward's 10 Best Interior award.

When you talk about cars costing in excess of $100,000, you'd think they'd give you the world. Enter the BMW 750i. Fully redesigned for 2016, this all-wheel drive sedan offers a wide array of luxury furnishings without sacrificing performance.

I have not paid much attention to the new 7 series, but I just watched the video from CR and read the review from from Autoblog.

This thing is spectacular, glad to see BMW made the right decision to offer iDrive, gesture, and touchscreen.

Autoblog says their as tested price was $129,000 with the optional starlight roof similar to Rolls Royce.

The specs are awesome

I think the 7 Series and the S class have moved up one level, IMO they are more like a super flagship, closer to a Bentley than a classic flaship. Not sure if the A8 is in the same league.
