and yeah, before it's posted, i know the corolla sells quicker than free hotdogs at a ball park, but that doesn't make a hotdog gourmet food.
The Corolla looks like something out of 2002. I'm sure it runs well and does what it's supposed to do for its target demographic, but why oh why does it have to look so boring and dated?

This is what 2002 looked like. Big difference.

The Corolla remains on the sedate side, particularly from the windshield back. But who can argue with what real buyers want. Camry and Corolla both "boring" on the internet. Yet they are the 2 best selling cars in their segments. Camry best selling period.

I think Toyota is doing it right.
right on cue.

never said the corolla doesn't sell well, or appeal to the masses. there's obviously a market for a well built, very reliable compact automotive appliance with a great reputation. the camry is the next size up appliance. nothing wrong with it, just like basic mainstream kitchen appliances vs. niche ones that are more stylish, but just because they sell in high volume doesn't mean mainstream ones have style. they sell because of value, reputation, and often the absence of style.

It is not a Lexus, but it is a nice car.

even in those glamor shots including being slammed with huge aftermarket rims i think it looks weak particularly because of the black front bumper/grill deal oh and those stock wheels and wheel gap... but hey, if you guys love it, more power to ya! we're still allowed to all have opinions.

I see them driving around all the time, I think it looks surprisingly good, wheel gap aside. The standard LED light really lends to an upscale look.

I would easily take one over every other car in the segment if it had independent rear suspension (torsion beam is a deal breaker for me).

I live next to a major SoCal university. In order, the most popular new compact cars are the Civic, Corolla, and Jetta.

The wheel gap is somewhat exaggerated in pics but in real life looks normal.

yeah, let me help you out with that... here is base Forte from KIA's website. I think base Corolla looks way, way better.

yep... it does have less space though, it is pretty expensive, and usually Mazda's dont have great refinement/NVH.

So basically they made it a car for people who dont want Corolla. Mazda3's always sold good, so i expect sales to go up a bit. problem is that half of their models fall into Mazda6 pricing territory though.

It's like judging an ugliest baby contest.

You can't really judge either car, any car, from selected photos only. IMO they all need to be seen in person. Real life, natural settings, natural lighting etc.
