I picked the LX because it suits my needs most and its based on my favorite 4WD. The game changer was the LS though. It started Lexus.

Depends on where you live, and what your driving conditions are. For most people, it would probably be either the ES or AWD RX, depending on how bad the roads get in the winter. The LS is an excellent vehicle but costs an arm and a leg.....ditto for the LX SUV. The LF-A is available only to a limted number of very well-heeled supercar buyers. The IS has the handy AWD option but is somewhat cramped inside, and (IMO) has a too-firm ride for a Lexus. The CT gets excellent mileage but, IMO, is too small for a Lexus, and its ride is even stiffer than that of the IS. The GX is a good off-roader and has good tow-ratings, but many people don't need that capability (and the GX is quite expensive). The GS, granted, appeals to a lot of people, has several different versions including hybrids and AWD, and would probably be right below the RX/ES in general attractiveness to many Lexus buyers.

I didn't include the SC and HS above because they are now history. For the record, though, the 2GenSC had a superb interior, but, IMO, was otherwise awkward-looking, couldn't compare with the stunning 1Gen model in overall looks, and the rear seat was simply a joke...it would have been better-done as a 2-seater. The HS was essentially a sedan Prius with a slightly more conventional interior and less-frustrating dash/controls. Its low sales (and discontinuation) shows that not many folks thought it a good value.

doesn't look like you voted for it?

No doubt the LS is the best Lexus model series, however poll question is "Best Overall" and considering, price, features, ride, value, etc., my humble opinion is the ES.

No doubt the LS was the game changer.. but I voted the IS, because in time, it will be the car that will beat BMW and make Lexus the cool brand.

No one makes a better car than the LS series...I'm partial to the LS400. I had a 1993...totaled. I currently have a 1996 and 1999 LS. The 1999 has 400,000 miles and it's still going Strong. I will not buy another make or model car...looking at a 2009.
