it really does look like a match made in heaven. Even look how those CVT spokes are similar to the horizontal hood vents

if it opens on demand when in sport mode, that's great, otherwise folks will be installing the mild-to-wild switch to MAKE it on demand

that appears to be the case...

You can have it open (loud) in ALL modes if you like.

Default Is This the First Customer-Owned 2014 Corvette Stingray Crash

Well that didn’t take too long. It’s been less than one month since the first Corvette Stingrays started being delivered to customers when this picture of a crashed Velocity Yellow 2014 Corvette Stingray shows up this afternoon on reddit.

It’s not like this is the first time we’ve seen a 7th generation Corvette Stingray involved in an accident. During the development phase and run-up to production, the Stingray ended up in a ditch in Arizona and took a hit by a Lincoln Towncar into the passenger side door. Both Corvettes were repairable and based on the condition that we can see, we’re hoping this one is too.

Unfortunately, details of the accident are scarce, but we can speculate like the snarkiest of reddit commentators: Turn off traction control and this is what happens. We don’t know if that’s the case, but chances are it was driver error.

The C7 in the picture appears to be Z51-equipped Stingray based on the wheels and spoiler. The damage looks to be concentrated in the front of the car and the drivers airbag looks to be deployed. Hopefully the driver is okay and can one day face himself in the mirror after knowing he was the first customer to wreck a new Corvette Stingray.

Should more details and pictures emerge, we’ll share them here as always.

Agreed. For street driving, traction/stability systems are installed on new vehicles now (by Federal mandate) for a REASON.

I saw the exact same color combo yesterday....almost crashed staring at it.

Wife and I totally agree it's one bad-*** corvette.

Going to take a look at it at the dealer....first chevy that I'm ever interested in

FYI it ran a 12.7 and 12.3 with the manual..not bad considering it was on 20/21" Pirelli's
