Corvette once killed many of the japanese sport cars as example of
Supra, 300zx, rx7, 3000gt vr4, and some more
Now, they are doing it again. The c7 price totally killed lexus ISF. I am interested to see how the Japanese will fare with their supposedly new revision of their legacy with rumors of newer Supra, GTR, RX7, NSX, WRX STI. Since GTR came out 90,000+ the ISF was flirting with 70,000.
For the money, i would buy C7 just for the look, the marvelous technology, and new C7 handles like a dream. Is there a reason not to buy one, if u are a die hard sport car Enthusiast ?

Nice video embedded... and $51K... if I hadn't gotten my new toy ....
Promise kept.
When Chevrolet unveiled the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show in January, it said its 6.2-liter V8 would put out at least 450 hp and 450 pound-feet of torque when it hits showrooms later this year. Turns out it’s an overachiever.
Chevy announced today that the official output for the $51,995 coupe is 455 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque in standard guise. That’s up from 430 hp and 424 in the current model, making the seventh generation car the most powerful base Corvette ever offered. But it gets better.
When fitted with an optional sports exhaust option those numbers rise to 460 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque, which should be good for a 0-60 mph sprint of under four seconds.
While it retains a pushrod design, the all-new engine employs the latest direct fuel injection and variable valve timing technologies, along with a cylinder deactivation system that allows it to operate as a V4 under light loads and should help deliver an EPA fuel economy rating of at least 26 mpg highway, according to Chevrolet. But that’s not yet official.
Any bets on the number being higher than that?

I do agree that the new Supra for instance has a lot of work ahead of it. Of course Toyota can do something silly and make it compete with 370Z/Mustang/Camaro.... A 350HP Supra will be utter fail... when that's what they made 20 years ago. Compete with the new Z06 (at least) or don't bother making it at all!

I think I am waiting for a year, and then start hunting to see if I can get somewhere in that seat. I am pretty sure that for 40k, there is nothing that can beat a Corvette
-Look
-Power
-Awesomeness
Thanks Bagwell for a great search and Links

I believe that steep discount dues to the final model year of the C6 styling. As for C7, we might have to wait until August-September to get that kind of discount. I already calculated the price with options I want on the Vette, MSRP is around 65K, but I think I will pay high 50s OTD.

As someone who is VERY closely considering purchasing a C7, I am a bit disappointed in the power output. But I assume it's not as big of a jump as usual mostly because of increasingly stringent EPA regulations.
August/September? You mean NEXT August/September? (2014?) Because the C7 may not even start shipping to dealerships by THIS August/September...
