They guzzle gas, but seeing as you drive an IS-F, I'm assuming MPG's aren't super important to you.

To me the interior, while nice, still felt like a lot of Nissan-level parts and plastics.

Cargo capacity is pretty limited, but I don't know how much more you mean by saying you need more room.

If I wanted a sporty SUV, a Cayenne would surely be on the list as well.

^ same points what pbm317 made 13-16mpg on the fx with the interior of a G sedan( plastic leather) ~roadtrip on my friends FX~
good amount of space for a family, can be modded into a pretty nasty Suv on the road really love the aggressive facelift on the new ones .

Only if he sticks with an S model or higher. My buddy's base Cayenne is pretty slow and it still sucks on gas mileage.

the newer fx50's are pretty beastly but I just can get by the front end. there finer materials in there with the top of the line 50 and will eat most cayenne unless you get into gts range but that is double the base price!!

I've got a 09 FX, nothing bad to say about it and having owned 2 Pathfinders and a 4Runner, its just as useful as them and is faster then most cars on the road, a joy to drive, and gas mileage we don't worry about it but if you want to know the 5.0 gets 13-17 with hard daily driving, the V6 versions get better mileage but that is obvious

Actual owners are probably the best source of feedback.

horrible mpgs and because of the styling the rear cargo room, is a joke. The murano duffers from the same issue. If you want room to carry stuff then you will need a boxier SUV.

Rear cargo area is not bad, I can kit the same stuff if not more cause its wider in the back of my FX that my 00 Pathfinder and 03 4Runner could fit, and both the Pathfinder and 4Runner had no back seat leg room for normal size adults, my FX fits 6 foot tal individuals just fine

Thanks for the help. I can get a diesel model getting over 30 mpg. I need space for a 5 person we have 2 children and the isf has loads of room for all there things. But I need room for another person. I do not do German cars

FX won't really be good for 5 people, that middle position is kind of a joke. High drivetrain tunnel + low slung roof + deeply scalloped seats make it nearly impossible.

I have a 2010 FX35. Plenty of room for 4. Truck space is lacking for a SUV, my GF's 2009 RAV4 has much more trunkspace. Great built quality, had no major issues with the car.

Alot of fun to drive, but the 7speed auto changes gear alittle too much. I get about 18mpg with 75% local and 25% freeway driving. Not that great. That's why I got a Scion IQ for daily driving now.

If your concern is mainly with fitting 5 people then I wouldn't suggest the FX. You might want to look into a RX. But then again you think the ISF has loads of room and I think the IS is only good for 2 people and 2 pets, so maybe the FX might seem roomy for you. Hope this helps.
