My '11 Hemi gets BETTER mileage than my 09 4.7 did. the 4wd hemi averages between 14 and 16 in downtown style city traffic (stoplights every hundred yards, never exceeding 30 mph), and gets between 21 and 24 mpg hwy, depending on speed and load. Since august 4th, i have put 12,000 miles on it (mostly hwy) and have never seen less than 20mpg hwy unless i was towing or at speeds exceeding 85mph.

the gearing options available for the ram 1500 are:

-3.21 (no charge, base model trucks with 3.7L V6

-3.55 (no charge 4.7 and hemi)

-3.92 with Limited Slip (what I have, only available on SLT models and above equipped with tow package) $325

-4.10 with Limited Slip, no charge but only available on Ram R/T models which only come in 2-seater/short box/2wd configuration.

Glad to hear your Hemi does that well.

The Hemi I test-drove for the review also had the 3.92 Limited-slip diff....Dodge, for that particular Laramie Hemi package, charges two separate option-prices for both the 3.92 gearing itself and the Limited-slip function. Go figure.

3.92 Ratio rear-axle $50

Anti-Spin (Limited-Slip) Differential: $325

Saw a 2013 Ram with the 5.7 in a parking lot, what a stunning work of art for a truck.

Looks like LED DRL
Nice front
Suv 4 link rear suspension
Spray on bed liner
RAM Box

Wow, wow, wow!

Indeed they are, and believe it or not, they are quite affordable. Where Ford/Chevy will not budge much, if at all on pricing I have seen Loaded Ram's with a sticker of close to $55k end up going for $40k OTD. A friend of mine at work bought a '13 Laramie, Sunroof, Rambox, the works yesterday afternoon, and got 14k off MSRP. With a lifetime bumper to bumper Chrysler Max-Care warranty (same as mine) and after taxes and fees he came out around 45k out the door (10.5% sales tax, $4,000 warranty). For the truck itself, he paid around 38k. Sticker was $52k.

I'm definitely liking the new Ram 1500s. You could get a new Ram 1500 ST and SLT 4x4 with the hemi engine for around $30k-$33k when they had their sales and usually they had it often. Around where I live, New Ram 1500s are popping up everywhere and with their price tag, I can understand why.
