Default Will Lexus drop the RXh prices?

I was wondering......Since the ES and ESh are about $2800 difference, will Lexus think about making the RX and Rxh closer in price.

I do realize the hybrids were built more for power than MPG on the RXh GSh LSh and the new ESh is more for mpgs.....

but i do wonder...

Anyone have any insight?

highly doubt it. the difference now is like 5000 dollars, but that is still half of the GS and GSh price difference.

nope... ES300h is cheaper since it is built with cheaper 4cly engine compared to V6 of ES350 and RX450h.

if in the future they make 4cly hybrid for RX, then they will drop the price compared to RX450h

Exactly. I do think an hypothetical RX300h (based on the 2.5L) or an "RX330h" (based on the 2.7L) is a good idea though. Will help sales especially outside the US a lot, along with the hypothetical LS450h and GS300h.

Lexus will not drop the price on the Rxh. If they offer a hybrid version that is geared for MPG like the ESh, they will see a drop.

I don't we will see it until the next gen arrives.

Nah.

ES V6 costs closer to 4-banger+hybrid.

RX V6 costs significantly less than the same V6+hybrid.

BTW here's an example of why Lexus seriously needs to offer hybrids with small-displacement engines in the rest of the world.

Starting prices in China:
http://www.lexus.com.cn/cn/model.html
ES300h: RMB$359k
RX450h: RMB$945k
GS450h: RMB$975k

They tax BIG time on cars with displacements over 3.0L.

The RX price continues to creep up and a RX 450h with some options hits 55-60k easy. I wish Lexus would adopt a more than one hybrid strategy, offer a RX 300h and a 450h.
