That is the biggest and probably the only problem with the current CL63 and the previous CL55, by having the letter "C" in the name, most people automatically think C63 which is 3 times cheaper. Having the letter "C" in the name really cheapen the car. It must have a "S" in the name, like the old "SEC", or "SLC"..........or may I suggest "SCL"

 

Yeah the name is going back to S class.

LF-LC is developing new hybrid drivetrain and tranny fyi.....

 

I am sure they realized the problem I mention. You just can't confuse the S-Class with the C-Class

I would love it to be a hybrid, but my absolute requirement is to have at least 8-cylinders, if not, I'll be shopping elsewhere. Both my current Lexus got a V8, cylinder count is everything to me...........power and speed are secondary.

 

With all the manufactures downsizing the engines, we propbably will see only hybrid/electric/V6TT even in the flagship sedans in the near future. So get them while they last!

 

Yeah so true, even Bentley is going to a V8 from a W12. I only buy cars used though, so I am ok, I can always buy an older V8/V10/V12

But yeah, I won't be surprise the LF-LC will be V6 hybrid only. Then I won't be an owner. There are planty of V8+ from various other brands
