Details of the next supercar from Aston Martin have leaked out online. Based on previous reporting and subsequent spy shots, we already knew the machine would retake the Vanquish title and that its styling would be almost indiscernible from the marque's well-received AM 310 Concept.
Based on the leaked official info, expect a full spate of carbon fiber bodywork wrapped tightly around the latest iteration of Aston's VH platform. A 6.0-liter V12 engine will be nestled up front that sends 565 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.
The leather-lined cabin will apparently be available in both two-seat and 2+2 configurations, while pricing is said to start around $300,000 in the US or £189,995 if you live in the UK.
As you can see, Aston Martin is busy testing its new Vanquish at the Nürburgring, but we're not expecting an official introduction until the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September.

I mostly like the looks of this new model but think the lower front facia is too busy.

Aston Martin makes the Vanquish official
Aston Martin makes the Vanquish official
After what started with a puzzlingly innocuous 'reveal' at Villa d'Este, the debutante known as the Aston Martin Vanquish has now been officially and formally introduced. With the DBS having nearly cashed its chips it carries on with special editions for now this is the new ultimate Aston.
Yes it sits on the VH platform albeit one that's 25-percent stiffer, yes it's powered by the 6.0-liter V12 we know well, yes it's an evolution of Aston Martin's already polished language, but we don't see how any of those truths are cause for complaint when they look like this. The influence of the One-77 is apparent outside in the carbon-fiber bodied Vanquish's stretched lines and rear lights, and that's not a wing on the back, it's an "Aero Duct." Ahem.
However, it's the interior that cribs shamelessly from the halo car with the center console treatment of etched and LED-ringed inputs. If it's as nice to use as it looks, it could set the standard. The reshaped, twin-material steering wheel is also a nice touch. Other interior tweaks include a larger cabin and larger trunk (hallelujah) that can swallow 368 liters, which makes it more capacious than the boot of the Volkswagen Golf.
Underhood there's a 55-horsepower bump over the DBS, to 565 hp, assisted by an unchanged 420 pound-feet of torque. Gear changes are handled by the Touchtronic 2 six-speed auto, the combination said to be good for a 0-to-62 mph sprint in 4.1 seconds and a 183-mph terminal speed.

One thing that would majorly pi$$ me off if I were to buy an Aston is that STUPID FREAKING FORD has been putting on a cheap rip off of the iconic Aston grille to their econocraps lately. Not that anyone would mistake any of those Fix-Or-Repair-Dailies as an Aston but still... it would be annoying.
