That really sucks. I feel bad for the victims. I'm glad that I'm fortunate enough to be able to keep a eye on my car while working. When I get my wheels I'm putting two locks on each wheel lol.

thieves will get it if they want. in the video the guy does it in like less than 3 minutes with a lookout and everything.
they are professional thieves! swapped right out of the persons front yard
I can see my car right out of my window in my office.
Then my car stays in the garage at night. Plus my wheels have special cover and locks, but yeah, always be careful than sorry.

It sucks, my brother almost had his wheels stolen but the wheel locks stopped the individuals
It is sad that so many people will just take your hard earned stuff, no respect for others today especially with thieves, cut their hands off, that will stop them

A few months ago I saw some suspicious guys riding around in a Silverado. The next day I see a crime scene investigations van in front of a house down the street from me. They stole their GL550 which I have no idea how because you know they have the push button starts. So I installed a 16 camera surveillance system. If I ever catch anyone on my property trying to get into or steal something, Mr. AR15 is gonna light their *** up haha.
if a thief wants something bad enough, he's gonna get it. nothing is going to stop them.
the best protection is insurance. regular car insurance usually wont cover aftermarket equipment such as car stereos and wheels. one option is 'renters' insurance, which covers just about any and everything.

That Yahoo article is useless, tell us something we don't know. They ddn't even establish a conclusive link between wheel theft and/or improving or declining economic situation. Even the link to the video end up showing the thieves stole wheels/tires that someone stored in their driveway, without locking them. They just had to carry them to their truck.
Do people really still steal wheels. So 1995 imho. Im not saying it doesnt happen but its way way way less common today. In the end I cant imagine someone paying for rims and then not buying a set of wheel locks. I just bought a new set yesterday for 75 bucks
Ppl will do anything to make a quick buck these days...especially with the economy....
Wheel locks dont do much bc I have two different locks on my wheels...but I kno if they want it that bad they would get it...it makes u feel a lil better that they need to work a lil harder to get them

apparently its an increasing crime
Read the article for what it is, the economy is still not in a great place so people steal to make a buck, I live in ATL and the crime here is pretty high, mostly petty bs that is inconvenient, some stuff Im like wow but still, just roll with it and buy some wheel locks, they might not stop the theft but they can certainly make the thief think twice about taking your wheels cause if your/my wheels get stolen, it is only gonna happen on a day that I have an important thing to get to
This is so true here in Queens, NY in the past few months i've seen an Infiniti FX, G35, Nissan Maxima, and Honda Accords all stripped of their rims. Someone recently stole my tires caps of my Pathfinder, i'm not sure if that means I should be careful where I park it.
