Looks like some sort of lamp to me. It's probably there to provide some unique and interesting ambient lighting just like you can have in the S class.

That's my best guess.

Is it really worth 8000 extra cost? I haven't had a chance to listen to it.

Would rather have a G65 if I am dreaming though.

i guess until the car comes out it's hard to say. the system in the s is quite a bit better than basic.

Hmm.....it depends on what you value.

But if you value sound and audio a lot, you can't pass out on the higher-end B&O system.

Perhaps
To give an example, if you like the standard BOSE system in the Audi A8, then you will love the B&O even more (which has more audible and better mid-range sound)

Bang & Olufson tweeter to be exact

David Lewis's design
inspired by David Lewis's Beolab 5
http://www.bang-olufsen.com/en/sound...akers/beolab-5

you can see the same thing in Audi A8 as well except Audi have theirs rise up when you turn on the audio

I am not an audio guy, I do enjoy listening to music while I drive but don't really care for high-end systems. I love the premium sound system in my car, and the ML I had in the LS430 etc., but I can't and won't shell out 8000 for a sound system in a car.
