thats show "concept"... it wont go for sale ever :-).

but yeah, dressed up looks nicer of course... which is what they are probably saving for NX unfortunately.

I saw top end European Rav4 live and looks fine... (significantly) more upscale than old one, but not really luxurious.

Perhaps not now, but I am positive somewhere down the line in this generation they'll release a "refresh" with all that cladding dressed up. It's like how Honda was so blase about the criticisms of the Element's acres of unpainted cladding when it was introduced but then in the MMY refresh they finally painted them. It's a cheap way of giving themselves "room" for improvement later on when sales drop and they need something to spurt sales again.

I drove a 4WD limited model a few weeks ago...loved it, but I'd need more power and less black plastic on the exterior to drop the cash on one. Maybe they'll clean it up a bit at the refresh.

Glad we saw these "concept" photos because it shows just how "off" the Rav4 looks with painted bumpers. It makes the styling look more soap-like and very feminine. I prefer the more "rugged" look of the unpainted bumpers, and I'm glad they kept the bumpers unpainted. This is not a luxury SUV here, this is a regular every-day mainstream SUV.

The painted bumpers make the RAV4 look more upscale. This is the way it should be sold.

^Or, it should at least be part of an "Appearance Package" option. It does make a huge difference.

Lookie here, painted bumpers!

The only thing I'm a bit iffy about is the odd exhaust cutout...

Hopefully this model will arrive in North America soon...
RAV4 Premium looks great!

The other RAV4s, not so much.

But I am not the person they are trying to impress anyway, I am not who they are marketing this car too.

I bet they sell a ton of these to women, just like the CR-V.

That Rav4 actually has quite a few different touches...headlight LEDs, grille, front bumper, wheels, side view mirrors...

It all comes together really nicely!

all of the chrome pieces are actually available in Europe for purchase... but still black cladding... i think it makes it look better with chrome vs black since it is such contrast... I will do some images I guess so you can see.
