This is just a refresh though...I was disappointed by the headline that this was a redesign.

it looks really good! i hope it sells well! the one thing that i would change would be making awd standard on all trim levels.

That would increase the price significantly, as they don't have the engineering/components ready to make that happen. The engine/transmission is FWD ONLY for all models. The Sport Hybrid is AWD because there are two motors directly driving each rear wheel. No transfer case, no driveshaft. All of that stuff would have to be designed and implemented in the base model, thus increasing the price. And then discarded and not used in the Hybrid, eliminating any hope of economy of scale.

A few nice updates. Really like the Hybrid SH-AWD. Overall still looks like a bigger chromer Accord to me .

The RLX is based on the same platform they have put SHawd in for years, it should not have been hard at all to put SHawd in the RLX especially it being a larger car then the last RL and TL. I can't believe they did not at least give it Shawd standard like they have in the TLX, that would have been much better then a 10 speed auto. They did make KRELL standard on the hybrid model which is nice, it would be nice if it was standard on all of them.

I think they should have just saved the money instead of this mmc and put it towards a new model above the RLX with a new fully premium platform and new engine.

Strange. Not too impressed thus far, especially with all the chrome. It comes across as lipstick styling. Looks like dated Chrysler 200n taillights and a center stack that is choked by excessive plastic framing instead of important operating surfaces. The childish Hot Wheels rims are particular tacky.

I did not say it was standard on the TLX, I said it should be standard on the RLX. SHAWD is in/available on a lower end model the TLX.

They tried that on the last version (RL) and it simply didn't sell. Of course, this version isn't doing very well, either.

Even with $10K off, the RLX doesn't sell.

They gave me an RLX once when I had my NSX in for service.

I said I never want one of those pigs again and have been taking the crappy but reasonably sized for the city ILX model since then.

I can understand you maybe not liking the car (each to his own), but did you actually use that term when speaking to them? Sounds rather rude to me...after all, they were giving you a (presumably) free-loaner, which is considered a customer perk.

I am from MA and we are generally rude (I call it direct but many consider it rude. I make up for it by my remarkable PC presence at work).

They know the car sucks and just laugh when I tell them how lousy it is. They didn't take anything personally. I am appreciative of their excellent service. They are just happy to have a few NSX owners to take care of.

The owner of the dealership is trying to get into some other luxury brands because the current Acura car line up is hopeless

You should hear the service guys complain about the stuff that goes wrong with brand new MDX vehicles
