I hate people like that... I need to put some kind of camera system in my cars... I wish there was some kind of 360 degree camera system that mounts inside the car so you can catch to people who key your car and such... my cl600 got keyed and it pissed me off so much...luckily since the car is all wrapped in clear protective wrap it didn't get to the paint... but damn the things that I would do if I found that guy....anyone remember the video of the guy the got caught spray painting an Evo??

I use a 16gb extreme it's plenty and If nothing happens during the day I delete it.
This is from the website...
Recording time will vary according to the resolution setting used and the card capacity. Here are the average recording storage times for a 32GB SD card: 1080p (30 fps): 4h 21m 960p (30 fps): 5h 26m 720p (60 fps): 4h 21 720p (30 fps): 8h 09m WVGA (60 fps): 8h 09m

I think its kind of overkill to drive around with a camera in the car. Its not like this happens to millions of people a year. I already have a radar detector on the dash and that all I can handle.

All modern cars should have that standard. Nothing more annoying than coming out to your car and seeing new dings. Would be nice to track down who made them and have them pay for it.
It would also be the perfect tool for accidents as it would show you who did what wrong and would take the guesswork out of issuing fault.

I've been meaning to pick up a dash cam for awhile now. I think it has a lot of uses.
-If you get in a wreck and there are no witnesses
-If some a-hole reverses into you
-To record fun driving sessions
As I've been browsing different products I've seen a few that are motion activated when the car is off. So if someone messes with your car while you're away it can still be recorded.

I am suprised this guy is not in jail already, even with a half *** DA he can be charged with :
1. Insurance Fraud
2. Assult with deadly weapon (his car)
3. Extortion (that is a felony)
Why is this guy not in prison?

Funny you mention that. Me and a few others on here were actually trying to come up with a design like that. A high quality 360 dome camera at first. Then a 4 point camera system. Sadly, both designs had already been patented, and if I'm not mistaken we contacted Lexus and they don't accept those types of suggestions, OUTSIDE the company. Sad really.

Driver charged
It seems the police think it was a scam after all based on the charges:
http://www.thestar.com/news/crime/ar...d-and-mischief
On March 2, OPP charged Yogarajah with fraud over $5,000, public mischief and attempted fraud. Woodford said the fraud charge resulted from an insurance claim being made after the incident.
“The public mischief is he reported it to the police differently than what actually occurred,” said Woodford.

Bringing this thread back up, but I went ahead and made my 'own' dash cam.
I purchased one of those windshield mounts for cell phones on ebay, and downloaded "Daily Roads" for the android phone. Picture is clear and quality is pretty good for the subpar camera in the phone. Check out this video, and yes the driver of the red truck was a lady LOL:
