Default Euroncap ESP test: CT200h vs Focus

Video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGPNY...ature=youtu.be

Sidestory goes like this - Euro mags praise Focus for its handling skills, and usually hate anything with Toyota/Lexus badge...

So video shows ESP avoidance test someone has put together from official EuroNCAP test, of both Focus and CT200h. So much for sloppy Lexus handling and sure and confident Focus :-).

CT probably has a better VSC system. For the price I would hope so. Doesn't matter to me, I still love the Focus over anything else in its segment

CTh looks a lot more planted and stable, while focus jumps around. i dont think thereis an difference in their esps, just basic handling characteristics of the car.

i am just showing it because according to the euro media, those videos should be exact opposite.

I'd certainly rather be driving a £25k Lexus than a £15k Focus, however the difference between the two vehicles' ESC has nothing to do with how the two cars go down the road, and in that respect the Focus does offer superior ride and handling. Not that there's a great deal in it.

it does? jumps up and down in that emergency maneuver :-). Also a lot more body lean.

qft. and an 11 second piece of video hardly tells a whole story.

but i have no idea why those two cars are being compared. the supposed 'luxury car' vs. the mainstream econobox.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make? Is it that; if you push each car to it's absolute limits, causing the ESC to cut in, both cars remain on the road but the CT appears to be a bit more composed due to it's extremely stiff suspension? The same overly stiff suspension that negatively affects the ride and handling? If so, you're right.
