Default 2013 Porsche Boxster

http://www.insideline.com/porsche/bo...er-teased.html
2013 Porsche Boxster
Just the Facts:
-The third-generation Porsche Boxster and Boxster S go on sale in Europe in April.
-The 2013 Boxster and Boxster S get new sheet metal and more powerful engines.
-Both engines are expected to return better fuel economy.

The standard 2013 Boxster gets a 2.7-liter flat-6 to replace the previous 2.9-liter unit, with output rising from 255 to 261 horsepower. Output on the 3.4-liter six in the Boxster S is nudged slightly from 310 to 311 hp. Porsche says the standard Boxster will accelerate from zero to 60 in less than 5.7 seconds, while the Boxster S will perform the same function in less than 5.0 seconds. The optional Sport Chrono package provides even better performance and driving dynamics.

Looks better than the new 911, IMO. And the interior also gets the Panamera treatment.

I've always loved how the Boxster/Cayman look, and I really love the look of this new Boxster. The front reminds me of the Carrera GT.

Unfortunately:

... as well as a new electromechanical power steering system.
Ugh. Reviewers have panned the new electrohyraulic system on the 991, with one of the evo guys going as far as to say the FT-86 offers better steering feel. Guess I have to get a 987.2 Cayman R or something if I go this route.

Porsche makes some serious interiors....they really have turned themselves into a luxury brand with each generation getting more plush. Very nice work!

Yeah, sad the steering is the new system....at this rate all cars will drive like a Lexus LS

Materials or design? I think the design of the interiors suck. Do not like the design in pics in the thread, looks dated.

The more square head lights on the new Boxster reminds me of the old MR2 convertible. I still like it, can't wait to see the Cayman.

Not sure about that. Mid engine sub 5 seconds to 60MPH. No doubt it will have classic mid engine car driving dynamics. The only part I see it as being a girls car is the convertible part of it.

Love the redesign. Sleek, flowing, elegant, and sporty all done with taste and restrain. If I were in the market, this would be at the top of my list. Also think the base price is a bargain.

Their gauges are stuck in 90s even on 991. I never liked their interiors, quality and finish is top notch but whole feel inside of the cabin is so clinical, typical cold symetrical german bauhaus design, no emotions what so ever. Me no likey

On topic: Boxster cost you a lot of money but it doesn't get you a lot of a car. Same story with Z4, SLK, etc they are all at least 10K overpriced.
