You mean the same V8 Hybrid system Lexus had to come up with because they didn't want to sell a higher cylinder LS in the US market? The S Class is basically sold in the US with five diff't engines. Lexus has two, both V8s. The A8 will have four within the next MY. (Hybrid, 4.2 V8, TDI, S8)
We could keep going all day. Every brand has their downsides and "holes" in their lineup. It takes a true enthusiast to agree and move on, not complain and start making personal attacks
No you can keep going all day. This thread is about the Audi S8, not your desire to come here and defecate on Lexus in any thread then try to act like the victim.
FYI the S-class and A8 can be had with 4 cylinder engines. And most A8s sold in the U.K are FWD.
A true enthusiast? The irony There was no personal attack. I asked a question about your mother's X5 since some people love the South Carolina built X5.
I dig the fact there's even an Audi S8. Where's the LS F?
You go convince them we do want it and would buy the LS-F if they make it
I would even be happy if the LS-F they make just got a direct carry over current IS-F drivetrain, just make it quiet. I don't want to hear anything in my LS.
the tech on the car is spectacular. double-glazed windows with active noise cancellation will provide a sublimely hushed experience and that drive train will provide astounding and effortless thrust while still offering surprising fuel economy with the cylinder deactivation...
i don't care for the rims or front of the car, but the side, 3/4 rear and rear views look awesome.

same could be said about gs and es lokking the same.

Except they don't. B/C I've been in both very recently and cannot remotely be confused. The S8 looks superb on paper and I KNOW it will be a glorious car but I am sorry it looks like a giant A6, which looks like a giant A4, which looks like a giant A3.
Audi makes great vehicles and I find them absolutely dull to look at. Fancy LED X-mas lights do not make for interesting design. They have followed the same old page the last 3 decades.
While I am not head over heels with the Jaguar XJ...now that at least looks different.
The car does looks like an A4 in the pics. But when you see an A8 or S8 in person you know at first glance it's not A4. Especially if you saw this car in person with 20 or option 21 inch tires. Real sleeper

Got damn that is amazing by the S8
Have to disagree with you Mike as its a matter of personal preference. IMO Audi sedans are the best thing on the street to look at right now (close tie with Jaguar) while parked or coming down the street toward you. They are priced out of my range (because of interior and reliability) so personally I don't care what model it is. But to me, they found something that works and I look at every single one of them when I pass by, the badge noting the model is that last and least important to me because I'm not in the market for one right now.
A fantastic vehicle indeed and this time, in terms of performance figures, it beats the W12 version on BOTH horsepower and torque. Win-win on this regard.
However, I do have a question:
Is this new S8 available in LONG-WHEELBASE form (i.e. an S8 L)???

Hell yeah, build that RS8 baby.
You can't let the S65 AMG LWB have all the glory, can you Audi?

Inside is totally different, we are talking about the outside shape

Most Euros cars looks insane on paper, let's see how it actually works in reality.

A6 looks identical to an A4, I can't even tell a size differences. The A4 got so huge and the A6 stay the same size. It is pretty stupid.

Feel the same way, if Lexus are boring, I don't know how to describe Audi's styling..........dead?

The XJ does look amazing, too small inside though. Feels like a mid size.
