just moved to Denver and bought a lowly.....

2011 Jeep Liberty 4x4 with 20K miles for $17.5K
I actually had no intention of buying this vehicle, I was test driving a used 2009 Nissan Xterra when the salesman suggested I drive the Liberty; I laughed and said that thing gets horrible reviews...but I test drove the crap out of it (twice) and was impressed since it was $5000 less than the Xterra.
So we haggled about the Prius trade and I made the deal.
The best part about a Jeep is I can get a LIFETIME Powertrain warranty for $750 or a full lifetime wrap for about $1800 thru Chrysler.
Sure its not the most powerful vehicle but its sufficient for me.
First tank of gas was 21mpg which was 50% city traffic driving and 50% 75mph driving.
The truck (NOT a crossover) is 100% squeak and rattle free - a far cry from the Prius.
First "mod" 5-30W Castrol Edge Fully Synthetic oil with OEM filter and Michelin wiper blades

Congratulations.
Now you're ready for both the snow this winter and for and ofr-roading (all Liberty models, I believe, unlike Compass and some Patriot models, are Trail-Rated). And, no offense, but, for this vehicle, I think you did the right thing buying the lifetime powertrain warranty...it was probably a wise move. Jeeps with the Select-Trac and Quadra-Trac AWD systems often have trouble with the differentials and final-drive units.

It was my third one and that thing REALLY had some squeaks and rattles....altho my average MPG over the 20K miles i had it was 60!!!! I tried pretty hard to get the MPG, but not driving weird or under the speed limit, always 5mph over.

sweet capabilities with those things!!!
