http://toyota.jp/customize/camry/index.html

Definitely better looking than the USDM Camry SE version, that's for sure.

Btw:
This JDM/Rest of the World Camry is what this new-gen Camry should've been. Makes the American Camry as a whole (except for the SE version) look like a cheap piece of ****.

I like the JDM model better, but not the tacked on ground spoilers. We've long complained Toyota/Lexus needs to stop doing this, and they finally did with the new US model. Yet the JDM still has them.... hmmm.

Err......not to sound offensive but what is your point? Point is that for when it comes to this new Camry:

JDM/Rest of the World > USDM version (except for Camry SE/Australian Camry Atara)

Look at the overall responses here at CL and even on general car forums and websites (like Worldcarfans and carspyshots). The consensus is the same.

Just saying

Probably. Or maybe they are saving the filled out taillights for the '13 ES.

Just saying
there was no negative point there - just you will see people complain that toyota has lexus clues (here on CL). That Modellista bumper could find its home on 2012 GS.

As to the JDM vs USDM:

1. If JDM was USDM and USDM was JDM, everyone would like JDM again. Thats how it goes. JDM version is very generic large Toyota sedan. USDM version has a lot more personality. JDM has none.

2. JDM version is 2.5x more expensive than USDM. Obviously it has more features and interior will have nicer material. Nevertheless, I prefer the design of USDM interior as it looks more interesting. JDM is just another Toyota interior, well done, but nothing interesting at all.

Reason they did what they did is that JDM/World Camry is a lot more expensive car that can be afforded only by older customers who buy it as an "luxury" car. While USDM is made to appeal to wider range of tastes.

I personally like the risks they took with US version, both inside and out. Of course JDM has higher quality interior, but that has nothing with design but more with price which is , again, 2.5x higher.

As to the psychology of internet users, I will leave that to professionals :-).
But everyone wants to want "daring" design and then they pick most boring ones.

And for 2.5x lesser price, it looks good:

Ultra suede interior with leather wrapped dash and contrasting stitching in 26k Camry.

I'm not a fan of that design.I prefer the plain old full leather seating.
I do like the double stitching.
