Exactly, why take the risk? You put down $2,500 on Monday in order to reduce your payments and the car gets totalled the day after you bring it home, insurance is going to reimburse the lessor but you lose the $2,500 as well as your deductible. So by Wed, you've spent $3,000 - $3,500 with nothing to show for it.

If the monthly payments need to be lowered then the person is shopping out of their price range.

Ok, so what happen after you totaled the car, are you gonna contiune the lease payment or the insurance will reimburse the loaner. Will you require to get another new one with a new lease??

You are responsible for the payments until the insurance company settles the claim. They will pay the lessor the actual cash value of the car and your lease contract is terminated.

You can then turn around and get a new lease, new car with possible new terms.

lol, if anything the look is what kills it completely here in the US. most people i talk to they think the z4 looks horrible. of course this is subjective, but the z4 is not selling well for a reason obviously

thanks for all the responses already!
after thinking, i dont think leasing a 335i is the best choice.

instead I came across this: G37 coupe journey

$2,499 initial payment required at consummation. (Includes $2,110 consumer down payment, $389 first month payment). 2011 G37 Coupe Journey with Premium Package subject to availability to well qualified customers who lease through Nissan-Infiniti LT. Subject to Credit Approval. MSRP $42,375 includes destination charge. Net capitalized cost of $38,780 includes a $700 non-refundable acquisition fee. Retailer contribution may affect actual price set by Retailer. Monthly payments total $15,171.00. At lease end, purchase for $27,120.00, plus $300 purchase option fee (except KS and WI), plus tax, or pay excess wear and tear plus $0.25 per mile for mileage over 10,000 miles per year

what do you guys think of this deal?
how much lower do you think i can negotiate this down to?
any terms i need to ask before leasing in general?

thanks!

just looking at the numbers provided. 27.1k (residual) + 15.2k (payment) + 2.5k (down) = 44.8 (plus sales tax on 27.1k if applicable. i don't know laws in FL). price of car = 38.7k plus sales tax. you get those two numbers and diff them, that would be the overall "interest" you pay and you can see if it's worth it. i can tell you on my gs350, over 3 yrs i paid around 2k interest, and msrp on the car was 52k. that's just a reference.

how much you can negotiate down it's all up to the market, there are no rules. you just need to research a lot and educate yourself to see what's the best.

off the top of my head, stuff i will ask for lease
- msrp
- cap cost
- money factor
- residual
- how many yrs
- what's the mileage allowance
- what's the over-mileage charge
- what's the return tear/wear inspection policy
