At least BMW is not being overly conservative about making performance-oriented versions of everything in their lineup. I would rather Lexus do the same and have GS-F / LS-F / RX-F / LX-F / HS-Fh and what not, just makes everything more interesting. Who cares if they don't make money from those cars, it's all about being experimental, like the LF-A.

Hmm........with the way BMW is releasing M versions for all its models, wouldn't it make sense for them to give the go signal for the M7???
In that way, maybe Audi can now be persuaded to make an RS 8

Henry, have you sat and/or driven an Alpina? You know my affinity for the M3 and I'd take the Alpina over it all day... well... maybe...

Yes, looks to be M prototypes...I live 1 exit from the BMW plant and I have seen at least 2 different ones so far on interstate 85....badges are camo'd and has the typical M bumper with camo as well!! ..I have seen quite a few X series camo'd around town long before I see any of these type articles...I saw the X5M when it was in the same camo as well as the this generation X5 when it was in heavy camo being tested on the roads...

Almost like a 335 with exhaust, but a heavier deep sound. The guy didnt pull off aggressive or anything but it def sounds good. I will snap some pics the next time. I didnt see it as a big deal since its kind of common to see things like this..Its a decent looking suv....I give BMW props for this!!! Lexus are you taking notes?????

rominl: LOL!! not in that sense...More like with pushing the envelope. Who would have thought that SAVs would be this fast, let alone handle as if they are on rails? As ugly as the X6 is, Im very impressed with its attributes, even though it looks like a person wit no neck!!!

Do you mean on the Alpina or the 7 series? You mentioned it in your later post, but I thought Alpina was an aftermarket company exactly like Dinan?
That's actually a really poor pic you chose Russ.
I disagree with you about the B7, however. My dealer has one and it is ok, but doesn't wow me in anyway like a S63/65 or Pan TT does. It's worth $155K up here....and for that kind of cash the Benz' or Porsche would be my pick.
We had this discussion prior to the release of the current RX. If they had offered an F version like the original concept vehicle there would have been many buyers I believe. Would have sold at least as well as the X6 and definitely better than the Crosstour/ZDX, increasing the edginess of the Lexus line up and potentially drawing in a new/different customer base.

i meant why bmw doesn't just go in and make their own m7 happen
and alpina does nothing for me at all, not interested in any of them. i see plenty of b7 around, and like creedence, they do nothing to me like s63/65. to be honest, i would get pan tt over b7 too
