I agree to your disagreement.
The car is not too flashy. It has a handsome stature that will appeal to the appropriate market (older, well-to-do males). It has distinctive presence.
I don't like the wheels, but otherwise, it's a good modern interpretation of a big luxo Caddy.

That front end screams Sentra. Looks FWD and bland. As MP stated, this was an opportunity to push their brand to new heights and instead it seems the CTS will be the best thing they offer. MP hit the analysis perfectly. Not sure what some of you are looking at.

This is sad, IMO.
Art and Science could have translated into a wicked looking full-size flagship with very little effort: take the CTS, push the wheels all the way out to the corners, add more aggressive fender flares, another few inches of wheelbase, sharpen up some of the design cues and make a few nice wheel options available. It could have been very aggressive and very classy at the same time.
This XTS, to me, looks like a Taurus or Avalon competitor...not something to compete with the LS, S and 7, or even Equus. FWD or AWD, if the rumors are true, and only V6 or hybrid powertrains.

I like the looks of the XTS. We'll have to see what the build quality is. While I had pretty good luck with GM trucks, I felt the quality was sorely lacking in their car and crossover offerings.

I think they stuck with the more bland styling because the customer base is older. Then again the LS460 looks pretty damn good. I don't think this car will be competitive in todays world of high powered high tech cars. looks to bland for me

Looks like it's out of its element already. Caddy had a chance to compete directly with Mercedes, BMW, and Audi, but instead went with old school, boaty and glitzy styling. What a shame. This car will be no different than the last few full-sized sedans they've done. Those few who think it's cool will initially go for it, then the next six model years it will linger and collect dust on dealers lots. GM hasn't learned much if this is the route they chose.

This car will appeal to the traditional Caddy buyer and will definitely get them some volume.
Kind of unusual approach though since they seem to be going after the younger buyer with other models.
