Sounds just like our 2001 XJ8 when we had it! Smart man to get rid of it early.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, but as others have said, correct punctuation and syntax goes a long way!

Not a fan of sweeping automotive statements. Here at CL we have actual owners giving model specific actual feedback instead of the usual internet hearsay. I appreciate the reporting.

I am not surprised by the report on 2011 Jag.

Me neither - but at what point do you tally up all the feedback, spot a trend, and make a general conclusion?

Exactly the point, after getting actual feedback as well as reading other data sources such as JD Powers and CR, reasonable conclusions can be reached by model/year/brand. No magic formula/timetable/cutoff or point in time is necessary, the informed automotive enthusiast knows when he has enough data for his purposes.

I thought Jaguar quality was greatly improved over the past few years. Didn't they recent win a JD Power quality award?

In general, European-designed cars just don't have the same level of reliability as their Japanese or Korean-designed counterparts.....although, of course, there is no guarantee that any design, just because it is Asian, will necessarily be reliable. Mitsubishi, for example, has put out some vehicles with questionable build quality/reliability.

For a number of reasons, I place more stock in Consumer Reports than I do in J.D. Power. CR showed a significant incease in Jaguar quality for several years, in the 1990's, after Ford bought the firm, but, after that, more or less a return to the bad old days. There is, however, little doubt that the average Jaguar today, even after the relapse, is still more reliable than the Jags of the 70s and 80s.....especially the ones with the infamous Lucas electrical system.

Question

Had the 430 years ago and loved it replaced the jag in 24 hours it's like a dog going bad, once they turn it's best just to get rid of them. .that takes care of the jag problem now the maserati is a little different was fooling around on the net one night found a maserati spyder 5 years old with 1700 miles on it always ,had vetoes but I figure I'll check it out the guy was asking a fair price worked out a fair price made the trade.beautiful car yellow with a brown interior but the car:does strange stuff it has-an automatic with paddle shifters and every once in a while it will shift itself into neutral annoying to say the least.

When buying a Jag, you're supposed to buy four of them, so you can drive one while the other three are at the shop

Agreed, I had said this before, but it appears my post got removed. O_o...

IMO, someone with this bad of grammer/typing/lauguage skills, simply would not have the financial resources for said cars. At least that has been my experience.
