Yo, Bruce! Close this!
Locals and commuters passing through Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, got an eyeful Tuesday from a message board that was supposed to simply tell them "Fifth Ave. Closed."
Instead, someone had gone on an electronic rant, breaking into the machine's master control and changing the readout to "F--- Ratner."
As in Bruce Ratner, the developer of the controversial Atlantic Yards project, where the new Nets arena is going up.
Workers removed the message around 10 a.m., but not before it was displayed for more than an hour to hundreds of drivers and pedestrians passing by Flatbush and St.Marks Aves.
It's unclear who was behind the prank.
Steve de Seve, a local activist behind several recent anti-Yards stunts, said he had nothing to do with it.
Ratner wasn't amused. "Some irresponsible prankster apparently thinks it's fun to compromise public safety by hacking into the sign and changing the message," said Ratner spokesman Joe DePlasco.
"It is serious and offensive and, most importantly, a safety issue
