Default I've decided to join the darkside....

and have ordered a 2011 BMW 535xi!

First time I had ever driven a Bimmer a few months ago was love at first drive. Of course, it won't arrive for nearly 4 months due to short supply and specific options, but hey I can wait. Old IS300 is gone sadly. Sold all my stocks, but it was definitely worth it.

Congratulations, and great choice! I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences with the car

As a side note, I would recommend cruising through some of the BMW forums as you prepare for arrival. It seems that a few of the new 5s are experiencing minor issues, so being aware wouldn't hurt.

And...when you get it...POST PICS!!!

One thing I have to say is "wow" for the gas mileage on the new 5-series!!! 29 mpg for the 535Xi that is fantastic!!!

I've heard it many times that going for BMW is often called going to the "darkside". I can understand that statement a long time back but IMO, with the current lineup that Lexus now have (IS, GS, and especially ISF, LFA), Lexus is just as "dark" as BMW.

Congrats BTW!

Just one thread...and it was closed...but apparently there is still an issue with the N55 HPFP as well.

Congrats to the OP on the purchase.

Beautiful car that has multiple improvements over the E60. As others have mentioned, beware of the possible issues....and if you do have a HPFP issue make sure that you demand that BMW resolves it quickly and to your satisfaction. A software "reflash" is not a solution.

I hope you avoid the problems, because without issues it's a phenomenal vehicle.
