Ranting - Some cops are just rude!
This morning on the way to work, there was a SUV that skidded, hit a wall barrier, and flipped over. The cars in front of me were able to squeeze by via the one remaining lane. By the time I got there, both lanes were blocked off so I was stuck behind cop cars, tow trucks, fire engines, and ambulances. 10 minutes later, they cleared some of their vehicles to let this Prius through. I had my windows down at the time, and this cop pointed his finger through my window and right at my face. He spoke loudly, and said "YOU DO NOT GO! YOU STAY THERE!" My car was in parked the whole time, and never even spoke a word, so why was there an attitude toward me? A simple "please", or just a normal tone of voice would suffice. Also, get the finger out of my face. The next time they call for a donation, you know what I will say.
i find your negative remarks rude and utterly stupid. I may dislike cops but i dont go low to the point where i say "I don't shed any tears when bad things happen to cops"... youre no different than a criminal if you have no feelings of sorrow when a true hero cop gets shot up by some crack head or gang member...
im rather disgusted that theres people in the Lexus community that can think like that...
But then of course... your location says "the British empire"...
I am an Oregon State Trooper, and I've been on the other side of this issue plenty of times. On crash scenes we sometimes get shocked by people's impatience and just plain stupidity. I understand that blocking the road causes huge inconvenience, but while you will be late to work because of this maybe once a month; I, on the other hand, have to deal with people trying to run me over, several times a day.
As far as your situation, it is hard to say why that particular cop acted the way he did. May be some one revved the engine and he thought it was you, who knows. Many times regular city cops get overwhelmed on the freeway, this is not their environment. Regardless, "please" would have been nice.
As far as batman's comment, with all due respect, Sir, you are an idiot. Next time something happens to you (and I hope it doesn't), just don't call the cops, they are all thieving bastards.

remind me not to shed a tear when you get into a wreck. that comment is completely out of line. let me guess you had 1 or 2 bad experiences with cops so you judge them as a whole based on your experience?

The cop sticking his figure through the window at the face of a commuter is total bull*****. What gives police the right to treat respectable people in a disrespectable way?
Living in NY, you can clearly see that police have more respect and treat criminals better then thay do law abiding citizens. Maybe it's fear, or maybe the police feel that if they treat a criminal good, they won't have a situation to deal with. (at least in that given instance)
But it is unacceptable for police to be rude or treat a good citizen in a bad way.
OP, I have to think we're missing a detail or two here. Obviously something drew his attention to you. Why else would he waste his time?
This isn't a traffic stop. It's an accident with hurt or dead people. If my job was to help those people and make the scene safe, and I thought someone waiting in line was being obnoxious or unsafe in some way, I'd probably have done the same thing.
Not saying you were, but that was probably his perception.
When I get stuck behind an accident like this, I feel lucky it wasn't me and just put my day on hold for as long as it takes.

o.k one of you went a little too far. but i do understand why some people can have soo much hate for the police. atleast here in s.fl. i know most of them are a p.o.s. and at times ive felt the same way as batman. too get in an accident and fly out hte window of the car, to wake up on the side of the expressway and have a state trooper saying "you were speeding" and being rude. is rediculous. to get a ticket in pembroke pines, and take it to court only to share court with actual drug dealers and thiefs. and no matter what they fine you in pembroke pines. i have yet to go to court and hear the judge say "dismissed". i know there is good cops out there ive met a few before. but there has to be atleast 50% that are a p.o.s. btw. people here only use the cops for protection or for car accidents, or things they need a report made for. i myself dislike calling the cops. they send over like 4 or 5 cars anytime you call. and nothing ever been solved.lol.
until you guys are put in a cops shoes, you dont see what they go through day in and day out. you may think its unfair or their "targeting" you but 9 times out of 10 they have a good reason for doing what they are doing/did. my brother in law is a local cop where i live and also part of the county swat team. the stories i hear about how some people treat and react to cops is ridiculous.
to the op, i dont think anyone can say he was right or wrong because we are only hearing his perception of the story so its hard to really evaluate it.

You guys may be upset by my low opinion of local traffic enforcement. I have a high opinion of DEA, FBI, and also homicide, drug and white collar crime units btw.
However the point is there is something wrong when traffic cops make people like me feel that way.
I don't understand why it's okay for a cop to yell at me for driving at higher speeds. They should apologize for pulling me over, explain they are required to issue the ticket and get on with it. Their behavior is out of line when they drive at even higher speeds, and unlike me they don't have military training in high speed driving which is much more advanced than what they receive. So spare the lecture.
