You can buy a lot of sports car for $295,000. A fully loaded Lamborghini Gallardo; an Audi R8 and matching R8 V10; three Nissan GT-Rs and a Mustang GT; a 911 Turbo, a Cayman and a Boxster... we can play that game all day. But buying a great car (or cars) is just part of the equation. Insurance, storage, fuel and track time can add up quickly, even for the well-off among us, but the folks over at Skip Barber have a different idea.
The world-famous driving school is offering a lifetime pass for a not so affordable $295,000, but that lofty figure includes just about all the learning and racing your heart desires. Lifetime Fast Fast Pass owners can register for an entire season in advance, race at one of the school's 10 tracks or show up at any event and fill any open spots. One thing lifetime pass owners can't do is bump another driver from a purchased spot; a damn good rule if you ask us.
The latest offer from Skip Barber comes after the driving school offered a $150,000 unlimited pass, $100,000 national pass or a $75,000 regional pass. School officials are gauging interest in the passes, and if too many die-hard drivers purchase a lifetime pass a cap may be placed on the amount of available spots. If you've got the means, get in quick.

Having just went to their Open House for a day I can see how a diehard might be attracted to this. My wife and I left very impressed by the staff.

SCCA and NASA are solid and cost the membership fee of less than 100 dollars. If I had millions this would be great. For now I am happy with my NASA and SCCA experiences. IO have been to Bondurant for a $1500 kart racing course and it was a blast. I just don't think its worth the money when you can get most of that experience for much less.
To each his own but I don't see anyone here spending that kind of money for track accessibility . Most people (99%) have no experience on a track and have no experience in even finding local track days etc. I am not one of those people

Skip barber also has karts, and their own kart championships and sedan racing series which are on a national level I believe.
If you do some research, a ownership pass to any track around the USA, etc Monticello club NY, is roughly 150k in one time fee, plus roughly 75k annual renewal fee, for roughly 3 months days of track days around the year and usage of their semi exotic fleets.
To each their own of course, but this level of ownership experience is obviously not designed for you, or your income level, or mine, or 99.999% of the population anyways.
But to the people who can afford 290k on their hobbies, this is a better deal than buying a GT3 RS and track day passes. But no one said you can't bring your GT3RS to their events either.
BTW if you run your own SCCA team or Formula 3 team on a competitive level, you need a budget of 100k a year to be reasonable. Skip barbers gives you a life time experience for 290k, provided you graduate all of their driving classes (included) and race in their team.
Am in no way affiliated with them, I just attended their events before (it was pricey) but was very much worth every cent.
