Default '11 IS350 awd

I'm really liking the '11 IS350 AWD a lot.Too bad the backseat is so small.
My '06 IS250 AWD was the best Lexus I've owned quality wise.
I'm surprised the AWD came out now and not in the new design year which is soon.

No Bob,I'm done buying for quite awhile due to losing more $$$ and buying another vehicle would possibly cause a divorce.

...Should this be in the IS forum, or the 2011 IS thread...?

I wonder if the AWD will help or hurt the 350's performance numbers????

ok I think by now everyone knows the backseat is not huge....really tired of seeing that comment about the IS....(I owned a 250 and 350)...I mean seriously, its been in production for 5 years now.

I'll leave it separate since its only about the AWD IS 350.

I'm interested in driving it.

I would think the AWD will cause maybe like the '10 GS and GSAWD one tenth less time in the 0-60 and 1/4 mile.
As far as the backseat comments...it's a fault of the car and to not a few people. You can't even get a regular size car seat in back.Adults over 5'11 are cramped back there unless you move the front seats up.
I wonder if the new design IS will be a bit bigger.

No lol. Just seemed like such a general/random thought that it might be better suited for one of those other threads where people have expressed similar interests

That said, I'd like to get my hands on one as well!

I hope the cars dimensions stay exactly the same...just use some of the trunk for more backseat room.

Good idea on taking some trunk space.
It seems most smaller built cars are getting a bit bigger.

I've got CL-member review requests for it, too, and will be doing so when they become available in he D.C. area. But go ahead and drive one as soon as you are able to, if you want....I'd like to hear your take on it.

Excellent! My wife recently traded her '06 IS 250AWD for an '08 IS350 and living in WI we needed winter tires then, so having the option to get the best of both worlds will be good. I will be curious as to the ride & handling over the RWD one and also acceleration(better or worse).

Thanks for taking the time,

Brandon

Sure...anytime. But what was the problem with the 250AWD...just not enough power with the added weight/drag of AWD? Traction-wise, it would have been fine in the snow with winter tires. Of course, the low ground clearance will not give you as much deep-snow prowess as a Forester, Outback, or SUV.
