Default LS6 powered Toyota MR-S

GM LSx engines have been swapped into just about every car under the sun, but this is the first time I've seen this. It's an LS6-powered Toyota MR-S/MR2 Spyder that's being built by Speedhunters reader Erven as a track toy for a customer. I think the idea of mating a huge v8 to a paper weight japanese car is great. Massive torque and growl but the light weight that will provide a massive advantage as well. The best of both worlds

With the engine in the back - I'd expect it to lift the front wheels off the ground. Otherwise it's a FAIL.

With a power to weight ratio like this and the very very short wheels base this little beast will be an absolute joy on the track. The trick is getting the suspension dialed in with that mammoth motor in the rear. This little car has the recipe for fun fun fun

Agreed. It won't be a good track car unless your goal is drift. The weight distribution will be all jacked up. I owned a MkI MR2 SC. It pushed the front end mercilessly under power and that was only 140 hp. Without fully re-engineering the car, it will be a handling nightmare.

looks like itll be too gnarly of a torque monster for that little rear engine mr2, but still a cool idea.

I hope they are upgrading the brakes... haha I wonder how balanced and "nimble" it will be after the swap is complete.

I think the added power is awesome, but there is something very special about driving an underpowered car with a great chassis. Its more fun sometimes

Agreed - I've been in a mid-90s Miata and it was a blast. Just enough power to have fun, but not so much to get you in a mess of trouble (or kill you).

It's a lot more fun to drive something with low/moderate power at it's limits rather than try to tame a beast and use it at 25% of it's capability.

This goes even more-so for motorcycles.
