@encore888, I have to echo everyone and say that was a great posts

I think there would be a market for a big, plush Lexus ES coupe.
It's funny I was just at the dealership and I heard something about a GS Coupe. Likely the typical dealership banter and rumormilling, but I like the idea of a GS Coupe.

An ES Coupe? Not so much. That would pretty much be an overpriced Solara and we see where the Solara ended up...

Another thing is that an ES Coupe would be priced at about the same as the proverbial IS Coupe and most people (especially those in mid life crisis), would probably jump for the IS over ES.

I think another ES speculation that sounds pretty cool is positioning it as a dedicated hybrid model. Bigger and more powerful than the HS with a V6, quite ride and crazy MPGs. I'm not sure if the traditional ES buyer would like that though.

Here is one simple thought on the ES.

The ES does well because it is a rebadged Camry.

Don't forget Toyota's got the FT-Ch, coming too as well as the oft-rumored Prius MPV type vehicle. In fact there's gonna be a whole line of Prius branded dedicated hybrids, so soon it'll all even out.

Going forward Lexus will have an even split of vehicles in the F and h marques. Toyota will be adding plug-in hybrid and full electric vehicles which will differentiate them from Lexus.
