My vote is for the CTS-V. The CTS-V has more power then any of the other cars that are mentioned.

So, is power alone the issue? IMO, that's no way to decide on a car puchase.

XF SC certainly should be considered.

+1 on that. You can get a base S4 (which isn't really "base") w/ s-tronic right around $47-$48k. Add the sports diff for $1,100 and you're set.

You're right, I was just making a point. I feel the CTS-V is good looking has a nice size to it, is kind of stealthy, has a very nice interior, easy to use all the controls(sat in one at the auto show) and, not as expensive as the Germans brand new,. So needless to say, I am a big fan..

I also really like the IS-F and of course the NSX. Really you can't go wrong with any of those choices.

I would go for an absolute cherry NSX (1997+).

The CTS-V is also considerably bigger than the F. If you're friend is concerned that the F is too small the V might be a better fit. The M3 won't be any better for space than the F.

The Jag is beautiful and also fast but there is still that lingering question about reliability.

You can also probably find some good deals on new 2010 5 series with the '11's arriving next month. This is also the same reason I'd stay away from the E60 M5 with the F10 supposed to be arriving next year.

The CLS looks beautiful but drives, excluding the AMG, like a land barge. The S550 is dead sexy but not as sporty as some of the options you've suggested, but easily the classiest car out of those mentioned.

The S6 is a great car but you have to deal with the brutal service from Audi up here.

My vote would be CTS-V or S6 at the end of the day.

So looks like we are going with a Black 2009 Jaguar XF SC with 15,000 miles for $45500...should have it within a week...I should be flying out to Tucson to go pick it up in the next week or so.

I strongly suggest getting any additional warranty coverage. Congrats and good luck!

Agreed.

It is a beautiful car that looks like tons of fun. I will strongly consider the new XKR Speed/Black when it comes out regardless of Jag's history.
