Arrow Infiniti Recalls the G

Nissan Motor Co. recalled Infiniti G35 sedans and coupes, due to faulty airbags that may not deploy during a crash, U.S. regulators said.

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said as many as 134,215 Infiniti G35 sedans from model years 2005-2006 and G35 coupes from model years 2005-2007 are subject to the recall.

The recall is for vehicles sold both in and outside of the United States, a Nissan official said.

Nissan has yet to inform federal officials how the problem will be fixed, NHTSA said. Nissan informed federal officials of the potential problem two weeks ago, NHTSA reports show.

NHTSA said a wire harness for the airbags may wear down to the point that it could interrupt a signal to deploy the airbags in the event of a crash.

The report mentioned no crashes or injuries related to the problem.

When airbag systems and components are involved, however, that is not just an ordinary recall. Federal law is very strict with these systems, which, depending on the specific components involved, are generally covered longer than typical factory-warranty lengths. So, of course, automakers usually don't take chances with them. That's one reason why air-bag sensors are expensive.....they are plated with pure gold to help ward off corrosion for at least 8-10 years.

Where are you going with this, for years Ford had silent warranties that they never informed customers about, if you had a problem and brought it in they fixed it, but if you did not and the part failed you would have to pay the bill yourself, that's fcked up, anyway you look at it

Now you made a comment, which is not even Nissan/Infiniti fault, cars are nothing more then outsourced parts put together at a factory, under a given brand, sheit happens and machines break, and the biggest problem which no one wants to admit is that 90-95% of drivers are idiots, and the companies are trying to protect themselves, the idoits and the enthusiast who actually enjoy their cars

Everyone has recalls. Its not that the Japanese brands are getting worse it is b/c of THEIR LEAD IN QUALITY FOR DECADES that everyone else is finally catching up.

The Japanese have infinitely made all cars better and Japanese luxury brands have made service infinitely better.

It's recall season right now for EVERYBODY. Not just Japan. All of the American companies have had recent recalls. They just haven't been as publicized.

I think simply what happened is, every automaker saw what happened with Toyota witch hunt, and they don't want to be in a similar situation, so they will recall every minor thing right away to avoid the drama.

My sister has a G35 that is being recalled. I told her about it and she says her air bag warning light has been flashing lately. Now she knows why.

She says her G35 has little issues and swears not to buy another Nissan ever. Her driver's side door lock actuator went out and now she has to open and lock her car door with the key. Cost to fix from dealer: $400. Yikes.
