Default 370Z or 135i?

So my Dad's looking for a new car to drive instead of his monster Nissan Titan. Plus I think he's jealous of my Mom's ISF haha. So he's between the 135i and the 370Z. I drove the Z and liked it but have yet to drive the BMW. What does CL think on this comparison?

Thanks,
Elliott

^ yup. For the z paint is very weak. oh and horrible blind spots. Those are only things what my friend hates about the 370z.

Heres a top gear comparison of Z vs Z (370z vs Z4). Driving experience of the 135 should be similar to the Z4.

How about introducing your dad to a different BMW?

Personally I would rather go with the 3 series coupes. Much better styling than the 1 series. If your dads only options are those listed, I would most likely guide him towards the 370Z. I would make sure he thouroughly checks and test drives each car and examine the options along with pricing.

The 135 & z4 drive drive nothing alike. The 135 is a lighter, tighter, more tossable car than the Z4. I've driven the 135 & Z4 on more than one occasion.

Now, the 370z is a nice car to drive. The interior, solidity is subjective but is not for me.. I am not sure how solid the Z will feel when the years go by compared to the BMW.. I love the solid feel of European cars... This will be your dads choice to make ultimately..

Here is a comparo vid of the 135 vs the 370z

370Z.

They're both ugly and fast but the Nissan has a nicer interior and will probably be more reliable.

If it were my choice I'd pick the Z. The 135 is a great car and it possesses everything that makes a BMW a BMW. But the styling is not that nice IMO. If I had to have a BMW in this range I'd go for a 328i coupe. That car is wonderful... in fact, I am tempted to get one myself.

The 135 b/c even if the Z can beat it by a tick here or there in performance the 135 has a backseat and an useable trunk. I always liked the 135 but the new Z really grew on me.

Tough choice, good luck!

just depends on what your dad is looking for....

IMO----

370z is way more sport oriented, reliable, cool looking.
135i is more luxury, has a tiny back seat, bug-eyed, more of a chick car.
