i was at the dealership getting service done on my gs350, so i browsed around the showroom killing time. suddenly i came across the new 2010 isc with the top down and i saw this... i had to pull out my phone and take this pic...
alright, seriously, they couldn't find a better place for the antenna and they had to put it there?!?!?! i don't find that appealing at all... it immediately reminded me of this
i don't know, it's just such an awkward setup. my 2 cents, but i think how g35 convertible and e93 do it, seems more subtle
I'm not going to defend that shark-fin installation, but I will say that when I added Sat Radio to my SC430, the antenna mounting was a real challenge.
There aren't too many options for it. I put it on the trunk lid but, the wiring for it was tricky, since the wiring had to be run so that it wouldn't get in the way when the trunk lid was opened as a "trunk" AND when then trunk lid opened backwards when the top folds down.
Bottom line...antenna installation on a hard-top convertible is tricky.

no doubt, totally agree. but that's on aftermarket install though. if it's from factory install, then a lot more things could have been done to make it a cleaner install (say on the trunk lid). on my m3 all the wires are bundled together and run nicely along the struts (iirc). but for aftermarket install, definitely total pita
I don't see that thing as a big deal personally and in reality it's not a dealkiller from a sales standpoint for Lexus (it's so small). Put the G37 convertible next to the IS-C convertible and compare styling top up and top down and that little thing will fade into the background. I've seen the 2 cars next to each other at the car show last January.

nah, i don't think it's deal breaker neither, but still looks weird to me.
oh and don't get me wrong, the g37 convertible doesn't look that appealing as well. but still, to me i think the isc is very off as a whole
